The Paternity Leave (Bereavement) Act 2024 (Commencement) Regulations 2025

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the Paternity Leave (Bereavement) Act 2024[^f00001].

These Regulations may be cited as the Paternity Leave (Bereavement) Act 2024 (Commencement) Regulations 2025.

The Paternity Leave (Bereavement) Act 2024 comes into force on 29th December 2025.

Explanatory Note
These Regulations commence the whole of the Paternity Leave (Bereavement) Act 2024 (c. 17). The Paternity Leave (Bereavement) Act 2024 amends the Employment Rights Act 1996 (c. 18) to make provision about paternity leave in cases where a mother, or a person with whom a child is placed or expected to be placed for adoption, dies.
