The Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (England) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2026

Laid before Parliament: at 4.00 p.m. on 17th March 2026
Coming into force: 31st March 2026
The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34(1), (2), and (4), and 60(2) of the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004[^f00001].
In accordance with section 34(5) of that Act, the Secretary of State consulted those persons the Secretary of State considers appropriate.
Citation, commencement, extent and application

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (England) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2026 and comes into force on 31st March 2026.
- (2) This Order extends to England and Wales, and applies in relation to England only.

In article 1(2) of the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (England) (Amendment) Order 2026[^f00002] for “XXX” substitute “1st April 2026”.

Explanatory Note
This Order corrects an error in the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (England) (Amendment) Order 2026 (S.I. 2026/281) by removing a placeholder and specifying the commencement date for that Order.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sectors is foreseen.
