The Housing Act 2004 (Commencement No 5) (Wales) Order 2007

The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on the National Assembly for Wales by section 270(4) and (5)(c) of the Housing Act 2004[^f00001] and now vested[^f00002] in the Welsh Ministers, make the following Order:

Title and application

• (1) This Order is called the Housing Act 2004 (Commencement No 5) (Wales) Order 2007.

• (2) This Order applies in relation to Wales.

Provisions coming into force on 13 December 2007

The following provisions of the Housing Act 2004 come into force on 13 December 2007:

• (a) section 225 insofar as it is not already in force[^f00003];

• (b) section 226;

• (c) section 265(1) insofar as it relates to paragraph 47 of Schedule 15.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order is the fifth Commencement Order made under the Housing Act 2004. It brings sections 225 (duties of local housing authorities: accommodation needs of gypsies and travellers) and 226 (guidance in relation to section 225) of, and paragraph 47 of Schedule 15 (housing strategies and statements under section 87 of the Local Government Act 2003)) to, the Housing Act 2004 into force in Wales on 13 December 2007.
