The Beef and Pig Carcase Classification (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2012

The Welsh Ministers being designated[^f00001] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[^f00002] in relation to the common agricultural policy of the EU, make these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by that section.

Title, application and commencement

• (1) The title of these Regulations is the Beef and Pig Carcase Classification (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2012.

• (2) These Regulations apply in relation to Wales.

• (3) These Regulations come into force on 18 April 2012.

Interpretation

In these Regulations, “the 2011 Regulations” (“Rheoliadau 2011”) means the Beef and Pig Carcase Classification (Wales) Regulations 2011[^f00003].

Amendment of regulation 2(1) of the 2011 Regulations

In regulation 2(1) of the 2011 Regulations, in the Welsh text, after the definition of “darpariaeth eidion Ewropeaidd” (“European beef provision”), insert—

• ystyr “darpariaeth moch Ewropeaidd” (“European pig provision”) yw darpariaeth a bennir yng ngholofn 2 o Atodlen 2, y disgrifir ei chynnwys yng ngholofn 3 o'r Atodlen honno;

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Beef and Pig Carcase Classification (Wales) Regulations 2011 (S.I. 2011/1826 (W.198)) (“the 2011 Regulations”).

Specifically these Regulations amend section 2(1) in the Welsh text of the 2011 Regulations to insert a definition of “darpariaeth moch Ewropeaidd” (“European pig provision”).
