The Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2021
Made: 22 February 2021
The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 188(1) and (3) of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016[^f00001], make the following Order.
Title and interpretation

- (1) The title of this Order is the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2021.
- (2) In this Order—
- “the Act” (“y Ddeddf”) means the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016; and
- “the 2014 Act” (“Deddf 2014”) means the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014[^f00002].
Appointed day

The day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act is 23 February 2021—
- (a) section 56(1), in so far as it relates to section 144B (local market stability reports) of the 2014 Act, except for subsection (2)(a)(ii) of that section;
- (b) section 6, to the extent that it applies to a person who wants to provide a service specified in regulations made under paragraph (i) of section 2(1); and
- (c) paragraph 30 of Schedule 3.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This is the seventh Commencement Order made by the Welsh Ministers under the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 (“the Act”). It brings into force section 56(1) of the Act in so far as it inserts section 144B into the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (“the 2014 Act”), except that section 144B(2)(a)(ii) is not inserted. It also brings into force section 6 of the Act for all remaining purposes, and paragraph 30 of Schedule 3 to the Act.
