The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 12(2) of the Health Service Medical Supplies (Costs) Act 2017[^f00001], make the following Order.

Title

The title of this Order is the Health Service Medical Supplies (Costs) Act 2017 (Commencement No. 1) (Wales) Order 2022.

Provision coming into force on 21 November 2022

Section 2 of the Health Service Medical Supplies (Costs) Act 2017 comes into force on 21 November 2022.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order made by the Welsh Minsters brings into force section 2 of the Health Service Medical Supplies (Costs) Act 2017 (“the Act”) on 21 November 2022. Section 2 amends section 88 of the National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006. Section 88 confers a power on the Welsh Ministers to make regulations in relation to determining remuneration for persons providing pharmaceutical services. The amendments made by section 2 of the Act confer a power on the Welsh Ministers to make regulations regarding remuneration for pharmaceutical services specifically with respect to special medicinal products.
