The Building Safety Act 2022 (Commencement No. 1) (Wales) Regulations 2022
Made: at 3.40 p.m. on 5 July 2022
The Welsh Ministers make these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 170(4)(b)(vi) of the Building Safety Act 2022[^f00001].

Section 48 (insurance: removal of requirements) of the Building Safety Act 2022 comes into force on 28 July 2022.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations are the first commencement regulations made by the Welsh Ministers under the Building Safety Act 2022 (“the Act”). They bring into force section 48 of the Act in relation to Wales.
Section 48 of the Act makes amendments to sections 47 (giving and acceptance of initial notice), 51A(2) (variation of work to which initial notice relates) and 56 (recording and furnishing of information) of the Building Act 1984. The effect of these amendments is to remove insurance requirements for approved inspectors.
