The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 29(2) of the Health and Social Care (Quality and Engagement) (Wales) Act 2020[^f00001], make the following Order:

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order made by the Welsh Minsters brings into force certain provisions of the Health and Social Care (Quality and Engagement) (Wales) Act 2020 (“the Act”).

Article 2 of this Order brings into force paragraph 22 of Schedule 1 to the Act on 1 October 2022. Paragraph 22(1) requires the Citizen Voice Body for Health and Social Care, Wales (“the Body”), before the start of each financial year, to publish a plan setting out how it proposes to exercise its functions during the year. The first such plan will be prepared by the Body as part of its preparatory work in advance of the exercise of its substantive functions that will be commenced by way of a subsequent commencement order. Paragraph 22(2) provides that the plan must include a statement of the Body’s objectives and priorities for the year. Paragraph 22(3) requires that, before publishing a plan, the Body must consult such persons as it considers appropriate on its proposed objectives and priorities.
