The Welsh Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 23(5) of the Local Government Finance (Wales) Act 2024[^f00001].

The title of this Order is the Local Government Finance (Wales) Act 2024 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2026.
Provision coming into force on 1 April 2026

Section 18 (discounts) of the Local Government Finance (Wales) Act 2024 comes into force on 1 April 2026, in so far as the section is not already in force.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order is the first commencement order made under the Local Government Finance (Wales) Act 2024 (“the Act”).
This Order brings the remaining provisions of section 18 of the Act into force on 1 April 2026. Section 18(2)(c) and (5) are already in force for the purposes specified in section 23(6) of the Act.
