The Welsh Ministers, as traffic authority for the relevant length of the A48 trunk road, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 82(2) and 83(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[^f00001], make this Order.

The Welsh Ministers have given public notice of their intention to make this Order in accordance with section 83(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Title and commencement

The title of this Order is the A48 Trunk Road (Cross Hands Roundabout to Pont Abraham Roundabout, Cwmgwili, Carmarthenshire) (Derestriction) Order 2026 and this Order comes into force on 17 February 2026.

In this Order—

Those lengths of the A48 trunk road that extend from Cross Hands Roundabout to Pont Abraham Roundabout, Cwmgwili, Carmarthenshire, as specified in the Schedule to this Order, shall cease to be a restricted road for the purposes of section 81 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Schedule

The length of the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A48 trunk road that extend from a point located 632 metres north of its junction with Heol Y Deri, Cwmgwili, to a point located 213 metres south of the said junction.
