The Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2026
Made: 16 January 2026
The Welsh Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the power contained in section 30(3) of the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024[^f00001].
Title and interpretation

- (1) The title of this Order is the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2026.
- (2) In this Order, “the Act” means the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024.
Provision coming into force on 23 January 2026

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 7 (monitoring progress towards meeting targets) of the Act is 23 January 2026.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order is the third commencement order made by the Welsh Ministers under the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024 (“the Act”).
This Order brings section 7 (monitoring progress towards meeting targets) of the Act into force on 23 January 2026. Section 7 is the only remaining provision of the Act which is not already in force.
